Notice—Water
Main and Hydrant Flush
The Public Works Department will be flushing water mains and hydrants
between May 5th and May 15th.
Flushing of the mains removes
deposits of iron and minerals that are harmless but may affect
the color, odor, and taste of the water. Also it allows the department
to exercise and maintain
hydrants to keep them working properly.
Flushing will be done from
6:00am – 4:30 pm each day in different zones of the village according
to a set schedule. Please refer to the zone map and schedule below, to
determine when
flushing will be done in your area.
When you see men working or
water flushing from hydrants in your area, use little or no water
for 30-45 minuets to ensure that the water has settled down and that the
discoloration is
not drawn into your home. If you come home and find discoloration in
your water draw the
discolored water off through the COLD WATER TAP ONLY.
Do not run your ice maker, dishwasher, or washing
machine until the discolored water has been drawn off to avoid staining
to your water heater or laundry!
